Come search for bald eagles along the Fox River and on Geneva Lake! In the winter, these majestic birds congregate in Illinois and Wisconsin at open water on rivers and lakes. Join in looking for them in Illinois at the McHenry Dam and the Algonquin Dam and Fox River Shores Forest Preserve in Carpentersville, and at the Williams Bay Boat Launch in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Spotting scopes, binoculars and activities for children will be provided by representatives from Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge, Friends of Moraine Hills State Park, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, McHenry County Audubon, McHenry County Conservation District and Lakeland Audubon Society. Bundle up and visit the site closest to you – or visit them all!
