12:00 Noon – 4:00 pm at Volo Bog State Natural Area at 28478 W Brandenburg Rd, Ingleside, IL
Locally, WMBD is a cooperative between the IDNR, MCCD, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge, Friends of Volo Bog, Lakeland Audubon, and McHenry County Audubon, along with approximately 30 volunteers.

Can you name a bird just by knowing the size of its nest? Do you know what birds dine on? Compete in JepoBirdy and a Bird Behavior Scavenger Hunt! Learn how to use your binoculars and go on a bird walk. These are just some of the fun activities in celebration of birds at World Migratory Bird Days (WMBD) to be held in northeast Illinois and southeast Wisconsin. 2021’s theme is Sing, Fly, Soar-Like a Bird and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), McHenry County Conservation District (MCCD), Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge, Lakeland and McHenry County Audubon Societies and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) are once again bringing a world-wide celebration of birds to the Illinois-Wisconsin stateline region!
